How to Play
Remember Hide'n'Seek?
hideNtweet is new game that let's you bring back the fun of schoolyard hide and seek in the real world, playing with friends or solo with our scary ghosts, using your iPhone's interactive map to find your way, its camera to tag other players and touch home, and Twitter to communicate with other players.
Get in a Game
To play hideNtweet, start the application and simply tap the "Start Game" button to become the leader of a new game, or tap "Find Games" to join a nearby game already underway.
Picture Yourself
When you start or join a game, you must either use your last profile picture or take a new one so other players can recognize you. The profile picture camera is designed for easy "self portraits." When you turn your iPhone around and point it at yourself, you can tap anywhere on the screen to snap the shot.
You're It!
The first player to tap "Start Round" in any game becomes "It" for that round, takes a picture of home base, and must try to tag all the other players by taking their picture before they tag home. If you don't have enough real players in any round, the ghosts will join your game automatically as players to catch. Use playground rules to let the players hide before "It" starts seeking.
Another fun variation is to have "It" run off from the other players and take a picture of a hard-to-find home base. Then it's a race for the other players to find and tag home before "It" tags them!
Tag!
To tag a player (or home base), tap on them in the map or player list to view their profile and tap the camera icon in the upper right when you're ready to tag. Once the camera is active, if the player (or home base) is close enough, the shutter button will become active and green for you to tag. Use playground rules and tweets to judge whether tags are valid.
Play Again
Once all players or ghosts are tagged or touch base, (or the player who is "It" taps "End Round"), the round will end. At this point, any other player can tap "Start Round" and that player will be "It" for the next round.
